Another
Lost
Treasure

Jacksonville
lost another one of its historic landmarks on April 28, 2007, with the
demolition of the Lampru Court Apartments. Considered one of the best
works of architect Henrietta C. Dozier, this
2-building grouping on Boulevard was one of the highlights of the
Springfield Historic District. After many years of neglect, the
buildings were condemned by the city as an imminent public danger.
Springfield activist Rita Reagan called it "a tragic loss."
