In order to build a larger brick sanctuary on this site, the Methodists sold the building to the Catholics, who moved it across the street to property still owned by the Catholic Diocese. It was converted to use as a Parish Hall, and it was modified by enclosing the portico and by the addition of a new steeple on the façade. The building was destroyed in the 1901 fire and was one of the few buildings photographed close up as it was burning (see below).
