Who was this big-haired woman on a windy day?  She appears to have been onboard a sailing ship that visited Jacksonville some years ago.  And what was name of the unknown vessel?  Here's one clue for clearing up the mystery: At the time, the Modes Building was the Independent Life Building, as shown by another photo from the ship.  The image above comes from the Florida Collection at Jacksonville's Main Public Library, which appears to have about a dozen other pictures taken on the vessel.  Fortunately, these photos are posted online, so CLICK HERE to uncover more clues.  One picture even depicts the vessel's flag.  Please email the website director of JacksonvilleStory.com if you know the identity of this lady & ship!
