GINGERBREAD HOUSE
(Source of image: Florida Photographic Collection, Florida State Archives)
What a distinctive, tower-like dormer window! Who owned this Jax home with the gingerbread flourishes? The photo comes from the 1900s, as revealed by the Florida State Archives. No other info is provided, however. The open space around the dwelling does suggest that it stood at the town's edge. One hundred years ago, this meant such places as Riverside, the Southbank, the northern portions of Springfield, and the Arlington area.
